How can you tell if the time has come for a retreat? A retreat is a time away from the distractions of the world and a time to focus upon your relationship with God. Every Christian should take periodic retreats to seek spiritual renewal. Priests and sisters are required by canon law and the rules of community to take a retreat yearly. For the laity, the need for a retreat may be triggered by major events and life decisions in addition to the calendar. I suggest that if it has been more than three years since your last retreat, the time has come to make the sacrifice of time needed to make a retreat.
This Lent, our parish will offer you the opportunity to make a retreat here on our campus. Welcome! will incorporate scriptures, dynamic speakers and communal support to aid participants on their spiritual walk. Matthew Kelley, the well-known Catholic speaker and author, designed the program to bring souls to know and live their purpose in life: to be with God! The proper way to make sense of our lives is to make sure that God is at the center. Many people describe that there is something missing in their lives, some nagging feeling that they want something more. If that sense is in your soul, then it is time for a retreat! Committing to this weekend may be one of the best things you do with your life!
The women’s Welcome! retreat will be on the weekend of March 9thand 10th and the men’s retreat will be on March 23rd and 24th. Listen at the end of Mass today for information on the weekend and how to register.
