Saints Peter and Paul Parish answers the call of Jesus Christ to be fully alive in the faith
and to imitate his life. Just as Jesus gave us the example of service
to one another in his own life; we understand that this is the way
we are called to serve him, by serving one another. We serve one another
in the various ministries of the Church, helping the Church's mission
with our time, talent, and resources of all kinds. This sharing is
not an option for Catholics who understand what membership in the
Church involves. It is a serious duty. It is a consequence of the
faith which Catholics profess and celebrate. Sts. Peter and Paul parishioners
understand and live this philosophy.
As Catholics who live their
faith, we minister to one another as the need arises. Whether putting
a little extra touch on the meal prepared for our family, fixing a
little extra food for the bereaved family or ill neighbor, helping
someone fix a flat tire, teaching religious education classes, or
whatever we do that benefits another, we serve Christ in multiple
ways. Our giving of our time, talent and treasure benefits the spiritual
and eternal needs of our brother and sister in Christ, as well as
their temporal needs. When we live for Christ, we offer all our actions
and prayer to him for whatever he wants, and in return, we are blessed
beyond measure. God cannot he outdone in generosity!
God has given special
gifts and natural abilities to each of us. He gives these special
gifts to us, that we will have the tools to build his Kingdom on earth,
and to carry out the message of the gospel. "You are the light
of the world. Your light must shine before men so that they may see
goodness in your acts and give praise to your heavenly Father."
(Matthew 5:16) Sts. Peter and Paul parishioners do indeed let their
light shine.

We are grateful to those early parishioners
and to those who have continued to serve and support our parish. The
first Mass of Saints Peter and Paul Parish was on October 2, 1949.
Many people then living in this parish worked hard to establish this
parish and build a school and church, in that order. They built the
school and worshipped in a basement church for many years. Some of
the original parishioners are still living here, worshipping in their
"new" church.
